Gabriel Martinelli’s injury will require a treatment and rehabilitation programme lasting 10 to 15 days, Al-Hilal said in a medical update on Thursday 29 October. The Brazilian winger has a hamstring injury and underwent a treatment session at the medical clinic at Almajdiah Sport Hub.

The club has now provided a length for the programme after initially announcing further examinations. It has not confirmed a return match or said that Martinelli will be ready to play as soon as the programme ends.
Gabriel Martinelli injury: what the new update says
Al-Hilal’s 29 October training and medical report says examinations showed Martinelli needs between 10 and 15 days of treatment and rehabilitation because of his hamstring injury. The club also issued a medical bulletin on its official English X account.
That is a rehabilitation estimate, rather than a confirmed return-to-play date. The update does not name a severity grade or identify a fixture for his comeback, so there is no confirmed selection decision to report.

How the hamstring problem developed
The injury dates back to the 3-2 win over Al-Qadsiah on Friday 23 October. In its initial medical update the following day, Al-Hilal identified a hamstring muscle injury and said more examinations would determine the treatment and rehabilitation plan.
Thursday’s announcement supplies that next piece of information. It should not be read as a new injury sustained in this week’s training, or as proof of a fixed number of matches he will miss.
Martinelli had opened the scoring against Al-Qadsiah, according to the club’s match report. Before that, he scored the late winner against Al-Hazem at Kingdom Arena.
He did not travel to Qatar for the subsequent 3-1 defeat by Al-Shamal. That match report covers the other absences too, but the new medical announcement concerns Martinelli and does not settle those players’ availability.
Al-Hilal return to training before Al-Fateh
The first team resumed work on Thursday evening after a day off following the Asian Champions League Elite trip. Al-Hilal say the session began with fitness exercises, moved into technical and tactical work and ended with a practice game on part of the pitch. Martinelli’s clinic session was reported separately from the squad’s training.
Simone Inzaghi is due to speak at Almajdiah Sport Hub on Friday 30 October at 6pm Riyadh time, or 3pm in the UK, ahead of the home league meeting with Al-Fateh. The club has announced the press conference, not a starting lineup.
For context on the coach’s approach to his attacking options, our earlier Inzaghi reaction after Al-Sadd covers his comments about squad flexibility. Those older remarks are separate from Thursday’s medical finding.
