What we collect

• Information you send us, such as your name and email address when you use a contact form or email us.
• Comment details, if comments are switched on, such as name, email address and the comment text.
• Technical data collected through cookies and similar tools, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit.

How we use it

We use personal information to reply to you, run and secure the site, understand how it is used, and show advertising. Our legal bases under UK GDPR are your consent, our legitimate interests in running and improving the site, and legal obligations.

Cookies and advertising

We and our partners use cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings and in your browser settings, where you can also block or delete cookies.

Sharing your information

We share data only with service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting, analytics and advertising partners, and where the law requires it. Some providers are outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

Links to other sites

Our articles link to other websites. They have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

How long we keep data

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. Email info@alhilal.news. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version on this page.

Newsletter

If you tick the box in our sign-up form, we collect your email address, the date and time you agreed, and a one-way (hashed) version of your IP address as proof of consent. We use these only to send you the alhilal.news newsletter, news and offers. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by contacting us.

We keep your details until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your email address on a suppression list so that we do not email you again. Your newsletter details are stored in this website’s own database with our hosting provider (Hostinger), which acts as our processor. We do not share them with anyone else, and we do not share them with our other websites. We do not currently use a separate email-sending service; if we start to, we will name it here.
