What the AFC decided on the Crysencio Summerville ban
According to the AFC’s published list, Summerville was expelled in the AFC Champions League Elite league-stage match between Al Hilal and Al Gharafa on 15th September 2026. The committee records the offence as an act of violent conduct, under Article 47 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code.
The Crysencio Summerville ban includes the one match he was already due to miss automatically because of the expulsion. The fine of USD 2,000 must be settled within 30 days of the decision being communicated.

The matches Summerville will miss
The AFC says the Crysencio Summerville ban is to be served in the league stage of the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27, in these fixtures:
- Al Saad SC v Al Hilal on 13th October 2026
- Al Shamal SC v Al Hilal on 27th October 2026
- Al Hilal v Shabab Al Ahli on 3rd November 2026
Alongside the Crysencio Summerville ban, the same list hands a three-match suspension to Al Gharafa’s Ismael Bennacer for his own red card in that game, with the same automatic match included.
Reported salary penalty after the Crysencio Summerville ban
Separately, Goal reports that Al Hilal are set to deduct half of Summerville’s monthly salary under their internal regulations. Goal attributes the claim to Saudi journalist Abdulrahman Abaoud, and no club statement confirming it has been published, so treat it as a report for now. Goal adds that the club is said to have used the same penalty on Kalidou Koulibaly after his red card in the King’s Cup final against Al Nassr two years ago. Read Goal’s report for its full account.
What it means for Al Hilal
